Hotels in new york? Hi, My family and i are going to New York. I noticed all the hotels are very expensive in New York. I’ven't booked anything as yet. Is it better to book a hotel in downtown New York or stay on the outskirts. Also if i don't book anything would it be easy to find a hotel or motel that’sn't so expensive. In reality, if we talk about New York we actually mean Manhattan. Yes hotels are expensive in Midtown Manhattan, but that’s where you need to be. Transport is not cheap either! If you’re on a sight seeing/shopping trip, suck it up and book yourself into the best Midtown hotel you can afford. Book somewhere between 7th and 3rd, and 40th and 60th…and you’ll be able to walk to almost everywhere! New York is my favourite place!…Have fun!!!
